The mouse was sticking and removed the bottom cover in order to clean it (have a Russian blue cat that sheds a lot); can't assemble it back as the scroll wheel has 2 metal spring-like parts which popped up when i opened it & don't know where they go. Any help, please???

Just buy a $10 optical mouse and you won't have to worry about cleaning or reassembling it any more.

On the scrolling wheel, you should see two small posts, put the springs on those posts, and then snap the wheel back on.

I am not that familiar with that type of mouse, but you should still be able to use the mouse, you just won't be able to use the scrooling wheel as a button. Some of the wheels you can click, like its a third button.

Your mouse is broken and unfortunately it would cost less to replace it than waste your time fixing it.

The cost for a new mouse is like $5.

Check out Newegg.com if you can wait a day or two or if you need one now any place sells them. I've gotten combos Keyboard and Mouse for $12 and honestly they work better than some I've paid over $50 for.
