rice are cars that have a muffler and thats it. that is what i think rice is. rice is more of a mentality then your car. people who think they are fast and they didnt do anything to there car. i just dont understand why people who want to race dont work on their cars. if your friends own DSMs that means they have turbocharged cars which is a whole new style of racing. DSMs like the Evo, and gst and gsx eclipse are made to be modified. they are great motors and can produce insane amount of power. if you like your car then stay with it but you dont see nasty celicas around that often. whereas you will run into eclipses that make vettes feel bad ( great feeling) i owned a gsx and it changed the way i looked at cars forever. the only thing i have seen celicas do is exhaust and intake. im not ragging on your car. i have seen a all-trac turbo celica that beat me in my gsx. my gsx ran 12.9 and it took alot to get it there. i have respect for cars faster and i love to race even if i lose. i race to race. if i was you i would keep your car stock or go all the way with the 3s-gte motor and make if fast otherwise you will get stuck with the stereotype of rice.

Probably jealousy.

Either that, or the Celicas are still made outside the US (actually *in* Japan), whereas their Mitsubishi may be manufactured at a factory in the US. I'd have to know the exact makes of their cars (and your car) to be sure of this.

You can always point out that Mitsubishi is *also* a Japanese brand. Maybe they don't realize it.

It's just a term used to refer to a Japanese manufactured car.

rice burner means that you have a car with loud muffler(annoying one) and body kit. just an appearance, all sound but going nowhere. a racer wannabe.
