With Britian getting ready to halve the 5,000 soldiers they have in Iraq, Debra Cagan, deputy assistant secretary of defense for coalition affairs was sent to the capitals of our Iraq "coalition allies": Moldova, Macedona, Albania, Czech Republic, and Kazakhstan to beg their leaders to send more troops to Iraq.

Currently:
-Moldovia has 11 troops in Iraq
-Macedonia has 40 troops in Iraq
-Kazakhstan has 27 military engineers in Iraq
-Czech Republic has 100 troops in Iraq
-Albania has 120 troops in Iraq

The US makes up 94% of 'coalition' forces.

Arguably, all these countries have economic issues which preclude the deployment of any more troops or aid.

Pepe: Running your numbers (from March 07, 7 months ago) the coaltion forces only made up 8% of the total. Not much of a 'coalition' if you ask me and doesn't account for any changes or reductions since then.

Rick T: Debra Cagan has been described as John Bolton on steriods, which isn't going to score any points with our allies either.

Of course Bush is desperate for help.. he has stretched the U.S. military as thin as he can.. he has made enemies of almost everyone else.. and he is losing the war. He lies and tries to say it is a peace keeping operation.., Crap.. it was an invasion and he knows it and he also knows what it as for.... he has put the U.S. in the worst possible position that it has ever been.

Because of his stupidity and poor statesmanship, we now have countries like Russia talking with Iran...and other countries that were friendly to us, moving away not to be sunk in the quagmire Bush has developed... So yes.. he is in deep **** and he knows it.. and the sad part is, he and his corrupt administration are going to walk away from it.. and leave the mess to someone else.. i can only hope it will be someone with some diplomacy that can regain us respect in the world.

It will take many years for us to have that position again.. and those who just say. " the hell with the rest of the world.. we are the greatest''" well, they are just fooling themselves!

I'm sorry man, but if I remember correctly it was president Bush who declared war on Iraq despite the fact that the UN didn't agree with a military action.

So, I think if you start a war, you have no right to whine that other countries are not willing to participate on the same scale even as so called 'allies'.

In my opinion, you start a war... you deal with it.

Just because the woman appears to be a man in drag, doesn't afford her any points with our allies, for sure.
That being said, she is good at what she does and I do believe that we are doing the right thing. Slam me if you might but, we are helping a great many people, despite what the liberal media says.

Gee, maybe other countries feel the need to stand up against terrorism also. What a thought.

Wow, Bush calls THAT a coalition? Another Bush Delusion with a Candy Coated title to make us think it's something it's not

He did the same with " No child left Behind" ( where the neediest and most vulnerable children WERE left behind) and the dreaded ":Patriot Act", where he was allow to erode your liberties, and if you complained you were UNPATRIOT

He is such a dick!

smart countries stayed out from the beginning. Like Canada.
It made a senile old Prime minister go out looking smart. Good for the History books.

If I'm not mistaken, Britian doesn't plan to pull out any of their troops until about 6 months from now-------about the time the U.S. plans to start pulling out troops.
