About a month ago my home PC started running really slow to the point that it wasn't doing anything.?

I got it working again somewhat, but still sounded rough. Now the monitor keeps shutting off. Is this the Hard drive going bad or a virus? Thanks in advance.

how much space do you have available on your hard drive? it is near capacity, that can run stuff down. however, it shouldn't affect your monitor. sounds like something else. you can try reformatting - make sure you save anything important first to a disk. if that doesn't help, you might want to look into getting some more memory or taking the computer in to a repair shop. good luck!

try and defrag your hard disk by clicking on start > accesories > system tools > disk defragment.

if it still works run a virus checker.
