This is hard for me, it's kind of like praying out loud. The words get stuck in my throat. But here goes...

I found out just how wonderful family and friends are. The walls surrounding me crumbled more than ever.

When my husband went through his by-pass surgery, I had people that I didn't think even liked us, bring grocery bags full of heart healthy foods. Someone else handmade a quilt to keep him warm. The street of neighbors behind us, took up a collection of cash for us, too.

My husbands brothers, sisters, and both of his sons were there for both of us every day. The love that flowed from everyone overwhelmed me. I married into a wonderful family that loves to love people. I hadn't really let them completely into my heart before this happened.

In the long run, I strongly believe that for everything bad that happens in my life, something even better will grow from it. Maybe not right away, maybe years from now, but if I wait and be patient, and know that my life is in God's hands, there will always be a happy ending.

I am also grateful that I found this site. I have made so many new friends on here. For never meeting any of you in person, I feel the trust and love that it takes to create life long friendships. And in your case Gail, I found Sis.

I have so many things to be grateful for! Next week is the 3rd anniversary of finishing my breast cancer treatments and I'm a survivor! I'm very grateful for my parents, my two children and my husband. I'm grateful to my parents. My dad has PD and has given me part time employment. I work for him (and my mom) twice a week at their home. They have given me a different look on life. I am grateful for this beautiful world that we live in and the insight that there really are more good people here than bad. I could go on, but the tears are starting. Thanks for your question. Now I need a good laugh!

I am very grateful that I still have my parents with me to this day. Some many of the kids that I went to school with has already lost their parents and they are very surprised that I still have mine. Several things that has happened in the past couple of years has taken its toll on them. But they are fighters and are still hanging in there. But now with each passing day, they wish they could die and go on home. So I know that it is more than likely a matter of time before I loose one or both. So yes I am grateful for each and every day that I still have them with me.

I have to be a little selfish here. I had a brain anuerism and they did surgery to fill up the bulge. I was warned that I might need further surgery, but so far, everything is still all right. I'm grateful to be alive for another Thanksgiving. According to the doctors, I shouldnt have lived through the surgery.

In a few hours time I will know the results of the tests they are doing on my little 1 1/2 year old granddaughter. Hopefully they will tell us she does not have cancer and then I will be truly thankful.
