Not at all Ken. We all do many of the same things. My recycled content is 2-3 times what I throw out. I have a very HEAVY rechargeable lawnmower that I have to push. I have many CFL's. I use vinegar to clean almost everything.
Conservatives aren't mutant morons, we just see that the so-called "environmental" movement has been co-opted by socialist control freaks and it has the danger of becoming opression.

I don't know what neocon is, but it keeps popping up on this site. Anyway, I am a conservative Republican, and I do agree that everyone has the responsibility of being, well, responsible for themselves. I do not recycle at home because it was discovered that a) the recycling in our town at one time was a racket and 2) a lot of the stuff ends up at the dump anyway. But, all in all, it's probably a good thing, if done correctly and politics are kept out of it. Reducing consumption is great. I am constantly reminding my family to turn off lights, water, etc. And, going around turning off the lights or whatever myself if I have to. They are not allowed to leave a room with a TV or stereo or video game on. I don't use any light bulbs that are over 60 watts. I don't have a vegetable garden, but I do like to plant flowers, it's very enjoyable and I like the butterflies they attract. Anyway, I am not sure what your questions were for, but there ya go.

As a term, neoconservative first was used derisively by democratic socialist Michael Harrington ...!
I agree that recycling is a good thing.
I agree consumption should be kept in limited amounts and reduced where possible.
I don't compost as I don't have a garden. I live in an apartment. ( A consumption thing.) We used too and believe it's a good thing to do.
I vote independent and have all my life. I don't believe in taking my unborn child's life- glad I'll never have too, being male.
i believe the "choice" came when she agreed to have sex with the male, which is still the majority of ways a woman becomes pregnant.
Individual rights are always trumped by common ones. IE, I don't want to be shot for my wallet because the shooter wants my money & likes to shoot people for it.

I'm a Conservative... and first off, drop the stupid 'neo-con' crap if you really want to get serious answers, otherwise you'll be bombarded with insults about being a Liberal moron. As it is, you have some real Liberal morons posting replies to your question trying to egg on a response!
That being said... in all honesty, I have to say recycling is a good thing. I'm all for being environmentally conscious... but not because Al Gore tries to scare people with bogus claims of global disaster. They should do it for the RIGHT reasons:
1. Keeping the environment stable and clean is good for our health.
2. Reducing reliance on foreign oil makes us less vulnerable to our enemies.
3. It's just polite behaviour, anyway, to clean up your own mess.
Now, in the future, sir, you'll find you'll get a lot more respect with respect than you will with attempts at insult.

I'm not a neocon, but I am conservative.
Recycling is good, especially when I recycle things and they aren't just thrown in a landfill. I encourage you to investigate what really happens to a majority of the material we 'recycle'.
Sure, reduce consumption where possible sounds good.
Nope, it makes you an agriculturalist (or whatever 'ist' is for gardeners). I don't see how growing a garden is aligned to a political philosophy. I'd imagine lots of conservatives have flowering gardens too.

Is Neo Con a word you even used 10 years ago. Is your personal responsibility to blanket all conservatives as Neo conservatives? Do you have proof of a "Neo Con" speaking out against recycling or consumption reduction? I don't think gardening makes you a liberal or a conservative.

No,they received't.As everyday, they're going to blame it on Democrats. definite,Democrats suck besides. they did not do something they promised they could, yet Republicans were in administration of Congress for the first six years of Bush's presidency. They supported Bush's disasterous rules. Now,they have the nerve to communicate about Democrats effing it up at the same time as Republicans save filibustering costs proposed by technique of Democrats. also,Democrats don't have sufficient majority in Congress to override a presidential veto i'm no longer attempting to assert Democrats aren't any more at fault, yet they have in basic terms been in Congress for 2 years so as responsible each and everything it really is taking position now might want to be ridiculous The monetary gadget all started falling aside way before 2006,and gas expenses were increasing before Democrats took administration. It become Bush's failed rules that are in most cases responsible said heavily by technique of the Democrats no longer doing something both activities opt for to provide up with the partisan bickering and get to artwork

Most Conservatives are far more PERSONALLY responsible than most Liberals.
Neo-Cons is incredibly overused. Can we call liberals Neo-Marxist?
Most people agree that recycling and consumption reduction are good things as are many other Earth friendly ideas. We just don't need it to be forced upon us.

Kudos to you for composting and recycling!:) If anything, I can't help but think that composting and recycling should be considered conservative behaviors, since materials are being CONSERVED and nothing is going to waste. But then again, I think it's been a VERY long time since many of the self-professed conservatives have been truly conservative. After all, why else did Reagan and Dubya give us record deficits?:)

Nope. I am not a neo con but fiscally and socially very conservative and recycle.
It is not recycling that conservatives are against, it is the fact that the government tells us how to live our lives.
