mine is the PAKALANA...the Chinese
violet (Telosma cordata) which has
yellowish-green flowers, both, for its
fragrance and as a lei, to enhance the
beauty of one who wears it.

One of my favorites is the Echinacea purpurea or Purple Coneflower.
Drought tolerant, doesn't need a lot of fertilizer, perennial so it comes back year after year, easy to divide for new plants, good cut flower plant, etc.
And of course - big beautiful flowers that last six weeks or (many) more!

My personal favourite is the daffodil -
not the fancy ones, the plain yellow ones that smell so lovely.
Seeing daffs in full flower in spring confirms to me that the garden is all starting up again after winter - and all the promise that holds.
Bit of a 'flowery' answer but that's just how I feel about it!

i love seeing large groups of Bluebells
Also Daffodils for the nice sunshine colour
And Lilies for the formation
