Boston is a great city and an even better place to go to college. It has vibrant and diverse neighborhoods, great restaurants, world class cultural institutions and museums, great sports teams, tons of bars and nightclubs everything you could ever want in a city. Also the people who live here come from all over the world so Boston is a very diverse city with many culturally diverse neighborhoods. It is also a very historic and beautiful city. It has more colleges and students then any other city in the world meaning that their are tons of college kids around and the city has a very youthful vibe and intellectual atmosphere. Best of all Boston U is in the heart of the city. Boston is very walkable and has great public transportating meaning that you have great and easy access to all Boston has to offer. When it comes to Boston think of a much more manageable and charming New York.
Boston does have problems however. For one thing the cost of living is incredibly high especially for a student. Also the winters are freezing cold. The traffic is horrendous however this will not really effect you because you are in the heart of the city and can use the citys great public transport to get everywhere. Also the city is also renowed for being racist. The racism that plagues the city is not nearly as bad as it once was and would not effect you much a BU student because BU is not located in a neighborhood with high racial tensions. So dont worry if you are african american.

They don't call Boston the Hub of the universe for nothing.
Boston is a great city!!
We have everything that you'd expect in a big city and more.
Think of New York, with the Night Life, Shows, Art, & Culture.
we have ALL of that too just on a smaller (which in his case means better) scale.
Boston is a History lovers dream come true.
Boston has great public transportation, it's fairly cheap & it's the 1st and oldest Subway system in the US.
Like Harry Chapin said.. "Please come to Boston in the spring time...."
BU is a great school, with alot to offer too.
a degree from BU will look good on your resume.
infact Boston has alot of great schools.
Just going to school in Boston will be an education in it's self as you'll have a chance to interact with people from a bunch of different schools.
We have some of the best hospitals too.
What is there NOT to love about Boston?

No matter where you go to school, your experiences as a student won't be the same as those of a resident of the area. Boston is very much a college oriented city. You will probably interact with people from other campuses in the area and have the advantages the city has to offer. That runs the gamut from entertainment to access to academic excellence. Visit before you make up your mind, if you can. I think you'll like Boston.

I live and go to school in Boston. It's like any other city, it has its crime, nasty stuff like any other city. It is a huge college town, so there are a ton of young kids and bars, clubs, etc to go to. There is also alot of historical sites, and many fun places to shop. If you like sports, there's the Red Sox, the Celtics and Bruins in town, and the Patriots about 40 minutes south. It's alot of fun in the city because once you leave the classroom, you're out and in the city, and can go anywhere. It is very accessible by walking, and also the MBTA...(the subway). In fact BU has many stops on the green line.

Boston is the biggest college town in the country. There are so many colleges/universities in town. Loads of college kids everywhere. The only drawback for a student is that the cost of living is really high. Outside of that I can't think of any negative aspects.

Nonono, Boston is SO fun. It's a great city for college students. It has a lot of history, and its quite pretty. And not that unsafe compared to other cities in the U.S. Definitely one of the best college cities in the U.S.

It's an attractive city with lots of nice old buildings, lots of universities, museums, etc. Mainly its kind of expensive. There are some bad neighborhoods but its not bad so far as cities go.
The other con is that some of the natives can seem kind of rude and abrasive.
