I think they should make it 2 days after the conclusion of the final LCS game.

You might as well write it in right now: 2007 World Champions - Cleveland Indians. With six days off (8+ for the Rockies), that 21 of 22 streak cools off and allows the Indians to just keep on playing like nothing happened. The Rockies beat a Phillies team that was tired, beat Arizona because they were hot, but now... the road ends.

I don't think people will lose interest. It's the World Series with the Indians and Rockies!
Another reason they give teams a long rest is because it's really good for them and they can get their good pitchers rested up before the big game.

Too many days off. Last year series started on a Saturday but MLB said that the series gets better ratings during the week than on the weekend. I guess it's Wed, Thur, Sat-Monday and Wed, Thur so it only competes with football one weekend instead of 2.

The season is too long. Play doubleheaders to shorten the season by a couple of weeks, then we can have a World Series ending around today, October 18, like it did 30 years ago tonight when my man Reggie went BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
(Yes, I was old enough to remember it, but young enough to be sent to bed after the second homer. My parents have no sense of the historic or the dramatic.)

nobody's losing interrest.....its just the fans of the teams that aren't in the playoffs or the WS.....I'm an Indians fan and I'm extremely excited to watch the game tonight and watch them clinch the pennant for the first time at home in a long time! and what would be even greater would be to watch them win the WS for the first time since 1948....and I believe they will!

You'll only be losing interest if you're teams not involved, and isn't that how all sports go. the reward for jobs well done = the opportunity to do more.

the team that will hurt from this the most is Colorado.
They are on a huge streak, and when you're playing like that, you wanna keep playing.... the days off might cool them off.

I agree, they are really letting this drag on needlessly.
