Wow, you all value Stastny that high? I certainly don't expect him to be in the top-10 in scoring at the end of the year. I believe in selling high, so it sounds like I can probably get anybody I want for him, and then some.

I'm deep at forward to the point where Zach Parise and Tim Connolly are on the bench.
And the defenceman I'm looking for is a Lidstrom/Pronger type.

My other forwards include Ovechkin, Thornton, Daniel Sedin, Rolston, Perry, Savard, Jokinen, Huselius.

I don't understand how you guys can possibly say that you would not trade him. EVERYBODY is tradeable - for the right price. Nobody is untouchable.

His stock is about as high as it could be right now. I wouldn't get rid of Paul Stasny, but it is not unreasonable to expect a player at least as good as Phaneuf or Gonchar. Maybe if they are desperate enough for scoring, you could get somebody to bite on Lidstrom and a lower caliber center.

I have Stasny in one of my leagues and I don't see him slowing down too much as long as he stays healthy. I personally wouldn't trade him for ANY defenseman, but that's me. Just make sure you have plenty of offensive depth before you get rid of such a weapon.

*Wow, I was trying to be nice to the guy about making an ill-advised move, but you guys are pretty ruthless. Is today opposite day?

LITY, I love it. I was searching for the words, but could not have painted it so clearly and succinctly. Take the defenseman and run, my friend

I should note that I think Antropov's inevitable swan dive will look more like that cheap lawn chair while Stastny's dip will more resemble a moderately priced lawn chair.

EDIT: Damn, LITY, I'm laughing even harder now. Maybe it's the McCabe comment that throws folks. Hey, sarcasm deserves multiple thumbs ups when it's done well.

Seriously, though, Stastny's doing well but he's going to balance out somewhat and this defensive roster needs to be revamped. Assuming Stastny's not the only offensive threat in the lineup, he can be translated into a serious upgrade from a Blake, who might have already folded in lala land.

No defenseman is worth the points the Paul Stastny is putting up right now. The only possibility I can see is a 2-fer...with you giving up Stastny and, say, Murphy or Clark for two top-rated defensemen.

Don't listen to the rest.

Stastny will fold up like a poorly constructed lawn chair. You'll be lucky to get the rights to Aki Berg in a week. Trade him now while you can still get Bryan McCabe!

OK..........who's the nut that gave me a thumbs up?!?

It appears some people missed the humour (sarcasm) in my original posting.

I love Paul Stastny
I hate that he wears his father's (supposedly retired) number
I had him down for 110 points this year, I've moved that to 120 points
Paul Stastny has 63 points in his last 46 games.....tops in the NHL since January 1, 2007. He's certainly not a player I would consider trading!

Don't listen to the rest of them. Unlike, Like I am Telling You, I am serious. LITY- You really think he will get 110 or 120 points? I am not THAT high on him.
Zam- Gonchar or Phaneuf?? Wish you were in my league, oh wait you are (and in 1st for the moment).
The general rule of thumb in fantasy is not much unlike the real word business dealings. Buy low and sell high. Your selling point is great right now as you can see^^^^^^.
I think that Andrei Markov or Chara would be an improvement to that D especially if you are strong up front anyway. The other general rule of thumb is to deal from your strength to improve your weakness.

You could expect NO ONE! Trading Stastny is like shooting yourself in the foot.

mista mista: you are funny man. Unless he gets injured, he will surely get around 90 pts. this season. lol, I'm gonna come back and laugh when the season is over and Stastny has 100 pts. and you traded him after 6 games! roflmaooooo! Even LITY down there says keep him (he's being sarcastic in his answer)! That guy knows hockey through and through he used to be a scout.

~~

Let me add that he had 78 pts. in his rookie year playing without Ryan Smyth, imagine what he can do WITH Ryan Smyth!

You'd need more than one top defensive player to replace Stastny. He should be able to get you a top defender with an additional forward. Hold on to him if you don't get a superb offer.
