My parents are pushing me for driving lessons when I turn 17 in April. Personally I dont feel ready to drive and I might not be safe, plus I dont think I need them yet. Im at College now and I just use the bus and I feel that taking my test and then getting a car would be pointless until I have left College. Plus I dont have much of a social life so I dont need to be anywhere if you know what I mean?

If you don't need to or want to drive, then don't. It is way easier to get your license at 18 anyway...you don't have to take the training classes. I think you are wise to avoid the expense of a car for as long as possible.

If you don't want to take driving lessons now, then don't. Tell your parents you would rather use the time to study for your classes.

But when the time comes, BE SURE you do take driving lessons from a professional instructor. The reason is that your car insurance bill will probably be about twice what it would be if you don't get professional instruction. In the long run, professional training will save you money.

well, I am 17 and my parents won't let me drive. I have to wait until I turn 18 and then I can take the test. my parents are just stupid.

just take the lessons. when you have a car and any emergency comes up you'll be lucky to have gotten those lessons. I should of taken them...a long time ago, and i would of probably gotten a better job. so think about it.

If your really don't want to drive you shouldn't feel pressured to get your liecence. Just talk to them and tell them how you feel.--- Good luck!!!
