Oh I remember him well Mr Pastry was Richard Hearne. I think I must of been about 10 when Dad bought us our first TV little tiny screen. We were only aloud to watch certain programmes and this was one of them. We would sit in front of the TV and all of us, family of 6 would be in fits of laughter he was a very funny man. Wouldn't it be great if they bought back programmes as funny.

Richard Hearne was an actor, but Mr Pastry caught on at the BBC, and became a big success. He (Richard) died at the end of the 70s and lies somewhere in Kent, I think.
The only film he was in that I can think of was something with "Robin Hood" in the title, and you can probably get it on DVD.

I enjoyed the "passing out" ceremony as finished on Ed Sullivan. I almost surpassed out from laughter. a pair of years in the past, i stumbled on biographical guidance on Mr. Pastry on the information superhighway.

I suspect that most of the episodes have been lost, but you can check the ITV Archive for more info. The only clip I know about is his 1954 appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show".
I check up on UK TV on DVD often...haven't come across it anywhere yet.

Richard Hearne and he was very unfunny, sorry but slapstick comedy does nothing for me, like watching the clowns at the circus, yuk.
