No i don't believe it has strange powers but some people theorize that there is a large "hole" or "crater" at the bottom of the ocean in that area where large amounts of gases rise and sink ships. Be sure to also check out the Dragon triangle in Asia, it is similar to what happens in the Bermuda triangle. In the Dragon triangle, scientists speculate that there is a lot of volcanic activity in the area which causes such disappearances.

The gravity is a little different. A fact!
There is more magnetic force. A fact!
Since the area has such a deep trench they think that a methane gas explosion may be so huge that it causes problems.
A few people think there is a Black Hole in the area.
Some people think there is a space related "worm hole" there.
Some people think there is a Alien Space Station there.

Statistical survey of events in the whole world show that that area has the same rate of ship disappearance (sinking in storms) as anywhere else on the planet.

No it is a fantasy, however, it is in the middle of the hurricane belt and there fore many more disappearances are reported.
