subtract or add? 5/8+7/8= 12/8 which =1 1/2


5/8-7/8 = -1/4

You must mean subtract 5/8 from 7/8 which gives 2/8 = 4/16
So answer is B) 4/16 = 1/4

how are you going to subtract it if there is an addition sign but if you were to add it the answer would be 12/8 which can simplify to 3/2.
