Okay, this is really hard for me to say, but I need to help myself.

Heres what happends: We moved to kentucky two years ago because my dad got a job offer. She used to be fine in colorado because we had family and friends. Now, she is EXTREMEMLY moody. She will be happy for one week and take me and my sister places and act like a mom should.. but then the next week she wont get out of bed and says shes having a breakdown and how were "so hard" kids. She talks on the phone all the time when shes like this, and she wont leave the house.

My dad travels too, so when hes gone I cant have any friends over (My mom is to drunk) and its too embarresing to do anything. She wont take me to school (I cant ride the bus, im in walking distance) and she wont do ANYTHING.

Then the week after that (If im lucky) she will be fine and deny ever being "crazy"

Please help, I was crying a ton today.. and I feel like my soul is like just breaking down. I dont understand.

Im only 13.

It sounds like she does need help. Have you talked to your dad about this? You say he travels a lot. Has he seen her when she is in her "low" time, or is that just when he is gone? If you can't talk to your dad about it, then I would suggest talking to your counselor at school or if you go to church then talk to the youth minister. Good luck.

She may be bipolar, but she needs to see a doctor to be sure. It does sound like she has the signs, as my husband was diagnosed with it a year ago. Maybe look up some research and approach your Mom with it and tell her you love her and just want her to be happy and get help if she needs it. Good luck, I know it's hard to deal with.

She does have problems but that's not being bi-polar and that isn't depression. By the way, bi-polar is switching from being manic to being depressed so they're basically the same thing.

She does have problems, she's self-medicating with alcohol and it sounds like she does definitely have problems and she definitely needs professional help.

Is she going through menopause? Maybe she can go the doctor's and get some prescription medicine to help her.
