Following the aftermath of the death of Chris Benoit and his wife and child and the preliminary police reports that he may have "murdered" his wife and child before taking his own life do fans think it would be appropiate for him to be inducted into the wwe's hall of fame ?

the Hall of Fame should be judged on wrestling, not persoanl issues. i cant defend what Benoit has done (if he did it) but he still deserves to be in the hall of fame. Definately.

Wrestling-wise of course, but keep in mind that the WWE Hall of Fame is not a real Hall of Fame, it's the WWE's, and those who no longer have good relations with the WWE are unable to be inducted. For example, take Randy Savage, who had a HoF career, but isn't in good terms with the WWE and still hasn't been inducted. Same goes for Benoit.
Besides, if Benoit were inducted in the hall of fame, would you imagine how much the media and people in general would attack the WWE for honoring someone who murdered their family?

Of course he should. I know he only held the title once but that was a big mistake by the writers.
Any wrestling fan knows not to judge a wrestler on how many titles they have(Undertaker has only been champ 5 times)
Hall of fame is to commemorate greatness which was Benoit personified. He should be inducted in 2008 but won't be.
Any former member of the 4 Horsemen deserves to be in the Hall of Fame

yes chris benoit should be allowed in the WWE hall of fame, he was a very gifted wrestler, and he done a lot for the business

firstly it's been proven that chris benoit suffered brain damage from years of ring wear and tear, secondly from all accounts Nancy Benoit was a ***** and a lousy human, she was not at all a nice person, she beat their mentally handicapped son, and was married to Kevin Dunn (wwe booker)before benoit, she actually cheated on dunn with benoit, so on a personal level i belive she deserved to die, secondly i heard that nancy killed their son then chris killed nancy and himself, but he left a note to the police saying that he wanted the blame to fall on him, to save her family the embarassment. As for the hall of fame, Benoit was good but not great, i mean he only held the world title 1 time, although he had many other titles i feel his wwe career was all that great, i mean come on for the last few years of his life he was relegated to the US title contention, now i definitely consider myself a beoit fan and have just forgiven him for what he did, but i mean even Edge had more World title reigns, and noone is talking about how he deserves the hall of fame, (by the way he does if only for his tag team history), but will Benoit ever see a hall of fame induction? Hell no, because frankly Benoit is to wrestling as Barry Bonds is to Baseball, just a steroid using muscle head (not how i see him, but how certain members of the media have portrayed him) right now i belive that wrestlers like Bastian Booger, Doink The clown, Brooklyn Brawler, and The Gobbledy Gooker have better shots at entering the hall than benoit. However maybe in 10 15 years people will forget how underused he was and all the embarassment he brought upon the buisness.

he should be b/c of his wrestling ability and everything he contributed to the wrestling industry. but, he prolly won't be b/c the WWE is acting like he never even existed which is just wrong for them to do. if he does get inducted into the HOF, it'll prolly be many years from now just like the Bret Hart thing.

No. He was a good wrestler, but only held the title once, and was bad on the mic. That isn't HOF to me, even if he didn't kill his family and himself. Plus, since everything is pre determined, the whole HOF thing is dumb. They already have awards for tv shows without having to make up a HOF.

I really do have to say yes it is appropriate for him to get a place he should be remembered for his achievements in the ring not what happened out of it. I have read that he had brain damage and it was as bad as 85 year old Alzheimer's patients which when consider that Beniot was only 40 he was in a bad way that mixed with the depression of losing a series of good friends i feel bad for him that he felt he had no way out and no body he felt he could turn to and discuss his problems but really does deserve to be in the hall of fame so he is remembered to the future generations of fans R.I.P CHRIS BENIOT

He should, but he probably won't. A lifetime of accomplishments should not be overlooked by someone's personal life. Unfortunately, the WWE probably won't do it for fear of negative media attention and negative feedback from fans, which could affect their ratings. ~Sigh~
Besides, people are going to remember him for being a murderer more than a wrestler. He's already been erased from WWE's history. So it's doubtful his name will come up in the future.
