If you are so confident-why don't you bet your bank account? When CC loses? Big if. And who says Carmona doesn't win the damn Cy Young? Act like Beckett is unbeatable. Not hardly.

The post-season has no impact at all on any of the regular season awards--they are all voted on before the post-season starts. All the winners have already been decided and the results are locked up and waiting to be released after the world series. Beckett could pitch five no-hitters in this series and the next one and it wouldn't matter if the voters have already selected Sabathia. Sabathia could give up 10 runs without recording an out tonight and it would also make no difference.

I am sorry - I don't know what you are talking about!!!!
When C.C. wins tonight, he will probably still lose the CY Young - but the Tribe will be in the World Series - which I am sure he would trade the Cy Young Award for.

No it will not tarnish his award, because he wasn't going to win it anyway.

Even if he does win tonight Beckett will still steal the CY Young.

Playoff activity is not considered as part of the Cy Young voting. C.C. at home might produce a different result than the game in Boston.

What happens in the postseason does not influence who wins the Cy Young award, idiot.

even if he loses it's a regular season award. being a compettitor as cc is he'd rather win tonight (he has a big chance since wasn't good in first game so he'll want to do good tonight)than get the award that should answer your question whether takes satisfaction in it.

The Cy YounG award is supposed to be based on the season, not the postseason.

I don't think he can win it. Isn't the Cy Yound award given to Japanese pitchers who can scam $100,000,000 out of an arrogant ballclub?
