Get more fiber into your diet. A good start would be a large bowl of red beans and any kind of greens. Eat this with hot buttered cornbread and you will like it. Greens should be either mustard, turnips or collards. Spinach works too. Beans and greens are readily available at most cafeterias, and at places like the Cracker Barrel in the South.

Add dried apricots, gala apples, prunes, (6-8) per day. Eat high fiber cereals and whole grain breads, not just for a little while but from now on.

Also, drink plenty of water.

Ok this is what worked for me...firstly I went to a naturopath and she gave me a special very strict diet that I followed strictly and some herbs to drink.I also drank aloe vera later.Fibre drinks did not help me and I think they were just blocking me more.I think I may have had a blockage or the peristalsis action wasnt working.I took pineapple enzymes also which help to break down food BUT what worked finally in the end was a series of colonic irrigation.Sorry if that freaks you out but if you are as bad as I was and doctors arent helping and everyoned says fibre and this doesnt help you then this colonics is your answer.

Try eating 10 to 20 oranges or 20 to 30 mandarins or 40 to 50 prunes a day for a few days.

The best way to treat this problem is to get more fiber into the diet, bran muffins are good, as are cereals that are high in fiber. Fiber is also available in powder form that you mix with water and drink as a dietary supplement. Prune juice is also good.

"REGULAR","CHRONIC" constipation is a symptom of possible parasite infections, IBS, and Candidiasis. May also be Leaky Gut Syndrome.

I would recommend you first do a parasite cleanse and then see how you feel. Take Probiotics OR eat lots of Curd/Yogurt. Also, consider using Flaxseed. Take 1 spoon of it with a bowl of oatmeal regularly. Use more of stuff like garlic, turmeric, lemon, basil, olive oil, grapefruit, to help get rid of Candida.

Go to a grocery store or drug store (cvs, brooks, walgreens) get a container of psillium husks. (they are 8 dollars organic, at my organic food store but I've seen them for WAY less. Use according to direction, usually 1-2 tablespoons in a glass of water. make it part of your daily diet. some people use it 2 times a day;. it'll get you and keep you regular forever . (you need to drink it right away, it gets slowly gelatenous the longer it sits. If you want IMMEDIATE relief, get an enema kit from the drug store, if you are embarassed, just say you are having surgery. dr's order you to be 'cleaned out' for certain procedures.
