I have a job and I design book covers for people... however, there is this one woman that emails me and calls me several times a day about this one cover that i designed for her LAST YEAR!!! and now she is dealing with a different printer and she wants me to totally change the cover & not pay me anything. She told me she is almost done writing another book that she is going to send to me & have me proof read it, she wants me to go to this other site and get pics of some books to put on the back cover of this book that I was already paid to do .... blah, blah... I can't deal with this anymore.
The biggest problem is that this woman WAS a family friend... now she is becoming one of my biggest nightmares! She won't leave me alone, she won't pay me, I will tell her I can't do something and she gives me the phone number & email for her printer so they can talk me through the things step- by -step.
Why can't SHE deal with her own printer?!?

I don't want her to hate me so I can't tell her like "I hate you and leave me alone, I am never doing another favor for you again!" but I am (and my mom really is too) getting fed up with her.
How can I get her to realize I am not going to keep doing this stuff for her & how can I get her to realize NO is my answer - I tell her NO all the time then she'll be like 'Well, it will work out, just try it".
I hate it. She won't leave me alone.

go and talk to her, tell her ur problem, if she doesnt listen, , she is not one of ur family's friends,,, anyway, it's not ur problem, it's hers,,, dont talk to her printer, (this is my opinion, u shouldnt listen to everything people say )

Tell her the work was already done (and approved?) last year and anymore changes to that work will be charged accordingly up front. Tell her your job is to design book covers, not be an intermediary with the printer. If she can't or won't accept the terms of your work let her know you won't be able to do business with her.
Why do some people always need to be so dramatic and a pain in the rear?

That's a toughie. Get caller ID and ignore her phone calls and emails. Or, tell her you are too busy to take extra work at this time. Politely ask her to try to do it herself.??? I don't know that is a really hard question. I hate predicaments like that!!

THIS WOMAN IS PLANE OUT RUDE.sometimes you need to stoop to other peoples levels to get it through their heads.if you tell her she's bothering you then there's nothing wrong with that.besides it looks like she's just using you so she's not being a very good friend in the first place.so do what ever you feel like doing and who cares about her.

This is business, not family .. tell her you expect to be paid the standard going rate, half up front.. no more work until you are paid for what you've done. outline the parameters of your work...
If she leaves in a huff, it was probably worth it...
