Japanese Hair ornaments are called Tsumami Kanzashi . There are different types for different ages and seasons . They are made with all different materials. My daughter in law took chop sticks and sprayed them black. She stuck fancy dangle earings in the end of them and poked them into her bun.

put your hair in a messy bun and add black chop sticks to the back.
