To my knowledge ebay does not send out messages with links to other sites. If you still have the original emails set your mail program on yahoo to show full details. Since this individual is in China your chances of getting any money back is probably nill. YOU'VE BEEN SCAMED. If the original email had an ebay logo you can contact them to report fraudulant use of their logo or site.

This probably was totally unrelated to ebay, but you could try reporting it to them, your isp and the police. Don't expect miracles, but something may happen. If people always reported these incidents it would build a sensible case against the individuals and they could be dealt with easily.

its a shame you didn't pay by PAYPAL, as you can report them and they sort it for you. My husband had problem with a mobile phone, we got some of the money back but only lost £10. You should report it to ebay and see what they advise.

dont buy ANYTHING based in CHINA through ebay. ever. you wont get your money back.. but you can yell at western union ebay and that guy if it makes you feel better. ebay should be doing more to inform their buyers of all of the fraud possibilities.

call the police anf give them all the details. they have specialist internet fraud squad. also if you got on to these crooks via ebay make sure you let ebay no as they also take legal action against these people. the sooner its done the sooner the banks can track your money.

firstly report this seller to e-bay and they should impose a strike against him/his account. one of e bay policies is that you use pay pal as a safe way to pay for things, i'm afraid that at this stage you might forget about your money (but please read e bay policy before) unless you want to pursue further and involve the chinese police to investigate further.

get on to western union and tell them about it, give them all the details you can. You probably won't get your money back but at least you'll stop it happening to anyone else!
