I have a Kenmore side by side fridge. It has been getting warmer inside over the past few days, ice cubes melting some, etc. I turned up the thermostat, no luck. The fan is running. I cleaned the coils. The air coming out from the fridge is cool, when it is usually warm air. I am not sure how to diagnoss/fix this problem.
thanks

I don't know the first thing about repairing a refrigerator. That's what repairmen are for. In this case it would be a Sears repairman because Kenmore is Sears' brand. Do you perhaps have a service agreement on it? That would surely help.

Defrost timer, defrost heater, bad compressor...mine had similar problem..it would get warm inside and run constantly...I replaced the defrost timer and didn't work...then I took out the defrost heater element and saw it was bad...I replaced it and now it works! Do a search for appliance parts...theres a site that you can email your problem and they will answer your question and try to diagnose it! Sorry I don't recall the web site... www.applianceparts.com or www.repairclinic.com maybe? good luck!

I would recommend for you to buy a new fridge that has the ENERGY SAVER logo on it which will pay it self out over two years period.Guaranteed.

first unplug it for a half hour, after taking out the frozen stuff,
second if you don't get cold the unit could be out of gas need recharge
may be cheaper to get different second hand.

It is probably out of freon. Go to your local appliance store and ask where you can get it.

Hard to say for sure, but my bet would be the compressor has failed.
