I am still waiting to read this book. It has gained in popularity so much they featured it on oprah a few months ago and also a character on 'dexter' keeps referring to it. I hear it is great: "you get out of the universe what you ask of it" so if you really want something the key is not working hard it s asking the universe and surronding yourself with your goal..
For example: If you want to lose weight, you keep saying it over and over, and keep inspirational pictures of people who have dropped a lot of weight, pictures of women that show what you would like to look like. Never say I cant or its too hard. Believe it will happen and you will be thin.
Does it work? Can't hurt to try!

The section on how to use "The Secret" - I'll admit - really does open your eyes. You really do get a sense that you are in control - and perhaps even the feeling that the Universe is working with you.
Skeptics would ram this book into the ground. But if you're a skeptic then you might just be stunting your own personal growth, which I think this book might just be able to accomplish - in a way. It's not about magic events happening, or hocus pocus, which skeptics will lead you to believe - because the author writes in a realistic tone. (And not telling you to turn in circles and chant the name of your desired lover.) Or something like that. She puts it in basic terms - and I think it's worth the read.

There is an online source with what I would call the "real secret." The theme is much more profound that what you are hearing here about "the secret." And the story is rather entertaining as well.
And this is a free read...

I read it and I think the basic premise is good: You are ultimately responsible for the events in your life. Good for accountability and all that. The book goes too far im my opinion though. It actually implies that people involved in great tragedies througout history (such as the holocaust) brought it on themselves by negative thinking. It also says you can make any parking space you want appear just by positive thinking. A little too far fetched for me.

fragments of a Great Secret have been found in the oral traditions, in literature, in religions and philosophies throughout the centuries. for the first time, all the pieces of The Secret come together in an incredible revelation that will be life-transforming for all who experience it.In this book, you'll learn how to use The Secret in every aspect of your life -- money, health, relationships, happiness, and in every interaction you have in the world. you'll begin to understand the hidden, untapped power that's within you, and this revelation can bring joy to every aspect of your life. The Secret contains wisdom from modern-day teachers -- men and women who have used it to achieve health, wealth, and happiness. by applying the knowledge of The Secret, they bring to light compelling stories of eradicating disease, acquiring massive wealth, overcoming obstacles, and achieving what many would regard as impossible.\

Yeah. All you need to know is, if you're sad, do something to make yourself happy. You control your life. Think happy thoughts. Be positive.
You know, the same stuff your kindergarten teacher was telling you.
