yes he did, his father was a diplomat in the foreign service and in the early 50s he did a children's show on CBC radio. When he first went to ABC in the mid sixties he was only in his mid twenties and was made anchor , even he said he was too young and needed seasoning and more experience.

Jennings was fair, he was self educated, he brought in international stories about other countries so the US would learn whether they wanted to or not. And on 9/11 he was masterful and kind and compassionate and rivetting. I still miss him.

yeah he was pretty cool better than tom brokaw in my oppinion did you know he used to wear jeans while he was wearing a suite top while broadcasting everynight???
