I just turned 26 and I started reading the series over the summer. The books are meant for everyone.

There are so many people of different ages who enjoy the Harry Potter Books and movies, I don't see why a 25 yr old couldn't read Harry Potter books. In fact this guy in my class, he has to be in his mid-20's is reading the book right now. So yes it is alright.

The Harry Potter books are not children's books: they deal with so many issues that children would not understand. Personally, I believe that everyone should read the series. It's fantastic and well written; I think everyone can extract something useful from it. Bravo on picking a brilliant series to read.

I'm 43, and I've read all the Harry Potter books...waited with baited breath for each one to come out, in fact. And I can't tell you how upsetting it is to me that there are no more to follow...:(

I'm 42 and my husband is 47. We are AVID Potter readers (so are his children, ages 23 and 19). It is GREAT story telling and a wonderful series to escape into. I would read at night until my eyes burned. =) I'm a little sad that they're all done, but they are a pleasure to read for any age.

Harry Potter was never intended as a childrens' book. It just got classified that way because the characters are children. JK Rowling never intended a childrens' audience.
