it's not the end of the world, there is always next year. This guy is way too carefree. If he has that attitude, then why even show up for the game. This is a crucial game, he should care, and gets paid 20 million dollars per season to care. Am I right?

The team should just tell Manny to shut up. When he does open his mouth, he looks and sounds like an idiot, and not a 20 million per year all-star who has played in the majors for 15 years, is going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer, and who has lived in the USA since 1985. He sounds like a 19 year old punk spanish kid who can barely speak english.

Believe me, the Red Sox owner John Henry and GM Theo Epstein DO NOT want Manny opening his big mouth.

Enough of this Manny just being Manny punk a s s s h i t, he's a 35 year old man. Time to man up, grow up, stop being so god damn carefree, get a freaking haircut, and don't open your mouth unless you're going to say something constructive and positive towards the Red Sox organization.

I am tired of hearing the expression "Manny being Manny." It should be "Manny being held accountable." Here is a guy that came from the ghetto and basically has no other job skills. If it wasn't for baseball he would be flipping burgers at McDonald's. Baseball was his one shot at upward mobility in life and his attitude is that he doesn't care? Maybe the Sox shouldn't care if Manny misses a few paychecks. He is wealthy and it would not be "the end of the world" if he missed a few checks. People make excuses for him. No one is held accountable for their actions. This is not a beer league softball team. Being a ballplayer in the BIG LEAGUES means more than performing on the field, it requires the attitude to match. Manny is living the dream and getting a BIG paycheck to go along with it. He has no appreciation for it at all.

That's the third mistake he made this week. The first being, holding up his hands after hitting that solo shot with the Sox down 5 runs. The second was taking 15 minutes to circle the bases after hitting the home run. The third was the "who cares" comment. Three strikes and you're out!

Boston fans have every right to be upset. The guy in an embarrassment to the organization. Not to mention that he looks like he just woke up from a 7 day drunk. The guy has "zero" class.

Manny's not the problem, he's hitting just fine so he can say whatever he wants. I'm more offended by J.D. Drew and Coco Crisp as automatic outs in the bottom of the order and the fact that Francona is too stubbornly loyal to his players to shake things up.

Anyway, in the grand scheme of things, Manny is right. I'm as big a Red Sox fan as anyone but your life can be far worse if you consider a Red Sox loss tonight the end of the world for you.

I agree with what Manny says. He didn't mean it in an "i dont give a care" type way. All he meant was that if they don't win ( which they won't) that there is always next year.

yeah i am not sure what he was thinking when he publicly made this statement. Granted I am a die hard yankees fan and don't want to RS to advance, but it was still very weird to hear him say that. As always, maybe it was taken out of context. I am sure he'll appear on tv sometime explaining what "he really meant"

No, he gets paid $20 million to play baseball, not to care.

It isn't the end of the world, by the way.

Crazy Sox fanatics....
