that is in basic terms how the favourite participant is, it really is all...rather the favourite participant who has been fortunate sufficient to be on a international series triumphing crew contained in the technique his occupation. In a sense, he's ideal - in the adventure that they lose, it isn't the top of the international. followers are those who have a tendency to stay and die with consequences, so see you later as gamers, themselves, can handle even a quasi-philosophical attitude, then possibly human beings can understand that playing an finished season and assembly significant expectancies week in and week out isn't as trouble-free because the conventional rooter would trust. besides, if Boston does lose, that isn't any longer as if Manny, himself, might want to position a gun to his forehead and pull the set off, top?

Manny never talks much to the media and this is just another example as to why he should keep is mouth shut and play baseball. The Red Sox are trying to win and Manny comes across like he doesn't care. I am sure the Red Sox would love to unload him if they could get anything of value for him, which they have not been able to do in past years.

I think that Manny's statement has been taken completely out of context. All things considered, he barely speaks any English and he, unlike a majority of the Red Sox lineup, isn't the one that's failing.
He's batting somewhere around .429, with multiple homeruns and numerous RBIs, in the postseason. Huge contrast to the Sox leadoff hitter, Pedroia, who is batting within the .100 range, and first pitch swinging every time at bat.
If one were to actually analyze the statement made by Manny, instead of criticizing the strongest player in the lineup, one could percieve the comment as a means to take some pressure off of his failing teammates. Either way, Manny would be welcomed in any clubhouse in the nation, and the Sox would be severely hindered without him...

You have every right to be pissed. $20M a year, you'd think he would show a little class, but then, as everyone seems to say, "Oh that's Manny being Manny". Well guess what, that's crap!

You never hear David Ortiz say stuff like that. Nor do you hear that from the other Red Sox players. At least 24 Red Sox players care about winning. If I was Boston management I'd drop him like a bad habit!

Not to mention the guy looks like a bum. How often does the guy take a shower?

Obviously you and Manny are of different opinions. You love the Red Sox, Manny works for them. I agree with you in principle, I want my ballclub's players to be loyal and passionate about their team, but it just doesn't happen in most cases. The way free agency is and the "spend, spend, spend" attitude of most clubs will take away any really good player from the team that most players would be loyal to. The one that gave them their first shot at the big time.

Yeah I don't get it. How can you play with passion if you don't care?
I just can't see money being the main reason to play this game. I love baseball. I play to be the best I can to help my team win. As an athlete there might not be a next year.
I can't stand Manny. No class at all.

I agree Manny is a Moron

I remember watching Manny in Cleveland and thinking he is like that little leaguer out their in right with no one to talk to. Lost ... oblivious to his surroundings. It seems as though not much has changed. Maybe he was just trying to keep the guys loose. If that's the case though, he failed miserably

Yeah, it wasn't a classy move on his part. If an Indians player did that I'd be really upset. Don't worry, I'm sure Sox fans will have plenty to say to him once he gets back to Boston.

Don't believe everything you read and remember the media blows everything out of context. plus, who knows if he said it in English or Spanish? He could've said "I want a pizza with eggplant on it" and someone said "we can't get eggplant" and he said "who cares"? and the media wrote it up that he doesn't care.

I think that what he's referring to is they are trying to look at it as just another ballgame to keep the pressure off. Would you feel better if he was all freaked out?
