Wierdos start to email you and answer your answer with bashing and covering their opinons as the absolute truths and no others can exist. To me this only hurts those who are gay and lesbians.

Yahoo Answers is a hotbed of intolerance and immaturity. There are a hardcore set of good users who try hard to answer questions seriously and helpfully.

Then there are the pillocks you've mentioned who have to use any opportunity they get to spout pseudo-religious bigotry at people.

It's sad, but that's how it is. Thankfully, the real world isn't quite as bad. The anonymity here helps cowards to find a voice.

Hi Earl c,
I looked in your Y/a profile, and this is the only GLBT question you have ever asked, and the only question you have answered in GLBT is the 'Who is the most famous person?' question a couple of weeks ago. None of the answers in that question seemed mean or bashing, so I am wondering why anyone would send you the kind of emails that you describe. Am I missing something here?
You have asked and answered plenty of questions in other Y/a sections, so I am just curious about the bashing emails that you received. Since you think that these emails hurt GLBT people, I am wondering whether you could share some of the information from them so that we can figure out why someone would send you a bashing email that claimed they had absolute truth. Can we work this out?

I don't mind one reply or even two that are against my views, or point out flaws in my points. That's life and I'm good looking but not always perfect. When I get more that just go on and on I like to track down the owner so i can report them when they perform this way again. It is really easy to do. And lets not forget the good old block button for the real idiots out there.

I've never experienced this personally, but my thoughts would be to block them or if you go into your profile you can keep your email and IM names private... maybe that will help... as to why they do that sort of thing... mostly i think it sad ans a bit silly as if they have nothing better to do but breed hate and animosity towards people they don't know because of their own short comings. I wouldn't let it bother me if i were you and just delete the emails as they come. good luck and keep your head up!

I'd recommend you turn your email option off in your profile. If you wish to contact someone from Y!A, then turn it on, send them a message with your email and turn it off again.

The only people that will respect what you've written, would have respected it anyway, sorry. We all have to put up with or deal with them.

Good luck.

Agreed on that last part. But lets be serious - amajority of the people who use answers.yahoo - at least from what I've seen don't use the service seriously or respectfully.

Yeah I thought that only gays and lesbians only answered the questions in this section. I feel they must be gay to be answering the questions.

I agree...you are not alone. I've had the debate continue via e-mail and finally had to block
