We all do.
The closer we stand to this inner child, the more mature adults we can be. Because from this inner child and its memories, we can learn how to cure the pains and how to empower the joy. We can learn to keep the innocence of our child's soul conjunctively to our matured mind.

Everyone has an "inner child". It's your joy, your spirit of fun and adventure and wonder , of unconditional loving . However your inner child can be quashed by parents or relatives , teachers, siblings, other people assaulting it , making you feel badly about yourself.
It sometimes takes a lot of work to re-connect with your inner child as you become mature , then grandchildren or children or neices and nephews come into your life and you find it again.
