my car makes a groaning sound when i turn the steering wheel more than 3/4 of a turn? does anyone think they know what it could be and the possible cost of a repair? i have a 1999 ford ka

POWER STEERING PUMP OR THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

No idea but do not mess about get it checked by the agent or a competent garage. The last think you want (or indeed may get) is for you to turn the wheel one way and the car go another

You have a problem with the power steering pump. Eventually it will go out altogether.

Check the power steering fluid level, might just be low.

Have you got Power steering? If so then it needs topping up with oil.

the fluid in the power steering and also the tension of the power steering belt

The pump itself. You would be better to find one at a junk yard.
