I take a really hard walk. At least 30 minutes going as fast as I can; after that I can slow down and start to think. If I start getting pissed off again, I speed up my pace. I really do get some of my best thinking done while I'm walking. And I don't go home until I'm calm.

Raise my voice, cry, throw things . . .
I normally just take a deep breathe and count to ten or go in another room.
I know boring - but at least at the end of the day I do not have to fix something, replace something, or apologize to anyone.
Lately, when I am mad or upset - I have been able to IM a friend who helps me out!!!

Back in the "stone-age" when I was young, I would, occasionally, fail at "holding my temper." Eventually,"that sort of behavior(from me)" scared ME. So when I'd "feel it" coming on I learned to "shut-down". I would'nt talk or "do" anything. I was affraid I'd DO,or SAY something I'd later regret, & could'nt "fix". Once I had a chance to "calm down" I'd explain (if permitted) what/why I shut down. Most people understood & they were glad I handled it that way. They also knew then to recognize when they were "crossing that line" to, back off.
I hope I helped. Sorry if I bored you. Hope I did'nt Scare you.
Live-Laugh-Love. God Bless

I 'call down the saints'! Reverting to my special set of 'quatre-lettre' words relieves the tension.
Which reminds me of the parable:
Joseph was toiling away in his workshop within earshot of his son, Jesus, when all of a sudden old Joe missed the nail and brought the stone hammer soundly and painfully down on his thumb. Just then Jesus ran into the room and inquired of his dad, "Did you call me?"

I usually convert it into sadness immediately - it's less provocative that way. But when I don't, I fall completely silent. It takes alot of effort to make me get to the point that I start yelling at everything.

I used to just pretend i was okay to be honest! But i got sick of it so i got a stress ball but it just made it worse! because i was trying to break it and it wouldnt.
So now I draw anything, really childish like a house or a fat dog, but it helps release a childish side and it sort of cheers you up!
