So now I'm behind in all my classes. As of today, I missed 4 papers and some in class assignments. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do... Try to stick it out, turn in everything late and get C's or D's in order to graduate, or drop all my classes and try again in the spring so I can try to still graduate with honors. I already have a good job and experience in my field, so no degree is not holding me back (as of now) but I'm just SOOOO ready to be finished that I don't even care about my GPA anymore (I don't think)...

I don't know what I should do. Any suggestions???

I have a 3.7, so getting Cs and Ds is not a normal thing to me... But if I get bad passing grades, I will not graduate with honors (you need at least a 3.5)...

Good for you!!! You're almost there!!! :-)

I guess the question to ask would be how burned out are you? Do you want to go through another semester? (No telling what will happen next semester either...)

If you think you can give all it will take to compete this semester, talk to your professors and tell them what happened. (Even if you think you are burned out, this will help make your choices clearer.)

Many times they will extend the time you have to complete your work. If all of them don't, *some* of them will. That way you will have a little bit of a break and will know what you need to prioritize. This will help you decide if you need to drop or not.

Also, no one has ever asked what my GPA was...They only want to know that I have a degree. All a degree shows (depending on your degree area) is that you had enough focus and persistence to complete what you start.

It would be cool to graduate with *honors* though & look really nice on a job resume... I'll be praying for you! :-)

Talk to the instructors and explain the situation. If they are not understanding - and I would hope they would look at your academic achievement to this point and realize something has been going on - then get across the finish line the best you can, regardless of the slight GPA drop. At this point in the marathon, you don't need to circle back on the course and run an extra five miles.

If you can avoid C's & D's, then try really hard to avoid them. Talk to your professors and even your department head, explain what has happened and your concerns about graduating with honors, and see if there is anything that can be done. Maybe you can get some sort of extension to get yourself caught up. If you are an honor student, then it really is important to try to maintain the GPA necessary to still graduate with honors. Good luck to you!

Since no degree is holding you up, maybe you should try graduating with honors? I mean, for me I think doing something with all your best is better than just doing it for the sake of it, if you know what I mean?

But if you really don't care [but I think you kind of do because you're asking this question] then go ahead, finish it up. Do your best. :-) It'll be another thing off your mind, right?

Speak to each and every one of your teachers and tell them the same thing you just said here and ask them if there is any possibility that you could be given some kind of extra consideration. Give them a bried idea of what the family drama was about first though. I wouldn't advise you to drop all the classes.....it might be necessary to drop the toughest one though so that later you can take it alone and put more concentration in on that course. Good luck.

Gee, that is a hard decision. Honors or Typical, hhhhhmmmmmmm....Then again, you want to get this class over with, hmmmmmmmmmmm....Isn't there anything you can do to make up all your work, and will you be willing?
Have you spoke with your teacher? If I were you I would try talking with my teacher and question whether or not I could make up for it some how, theres got to be something. Push the issue and how important this decision is, unless you don't really care =)........Peace

Do what is most important to you. If you just want to be done with everything and move on with life, just finish what you can and take the grade you get. If graduating with honors matters more, withdraw, take the W, and try again next semester. Its your life.

Drop and go again. You will get the knowledge you wanted from the classes, it will look better on your resume, (future reference), and if it didn't matter to you, you would not be asking the question now.

If you dont care about your GPA, then try and pass all your classes; but if you do care then you can still try and pass then if you dont you could retake them.

Your GPA means zilch in the corporate world once you have experience.

Classroom learning is nothing like real world application. Thats why they say, "those who can do, those who can't teach"
