The first five days are the hardest. You're getting there!!!
If you can't keep your mind off of it (I couldn't) then change your thinking because your addiction will come up with excuses to relapse and it will invent some doozies. Here is what I said to myself and it worked::
You don't ENJOY smoking, you are merely getting relief from WITHDRAWAL. You are an ADDICT craving a FIX and there is no pleasure in that.
Cigarettes don't smell like fine aromatic Turkish tobaccos, cigarettes smell like filthy socks when they're burning.
Smokers are second class citizens, forced out into the alleys where they blow the smoke through their their tar coated nostrils.
The only people who smoke these days are old f*rts and misguided teens. It's a sign of neurosis.
One friend brought me an Evenflo bottle and nipple when I was quitting.
You gotta keep the self disgust factor working. That's the only thing that worked for me. Everybody's different.
Right now your withdrawal is peaking. By tomorrow you will be noticing a little relief.
I commend you. Yoga breathing is very, very helpful.
A support group is the very best thing or, as Grundle Goat suggested go to an AA or NA meeting. You'll be surprised how much power that will give you.

Find an incompatible activity to do when you want a cigarette. Incompatible is something you can't do and smoke at the same time. Examples: Swimming, jogging, exercise, lassoing a dogie (Unless you are the Marlboro man), sculpting, washing dishes by hand, walking the doggy, making love, dancing, kneeding dough and he list goes on.

Since its your mind that wants one, then keep your mind busy, learn something new, read a book, listen to music, something to keep your mind thinking of other things. After the six day mark your mind won't be soooo hooked. I know I quit.
Congratulations by the way <3 keep up the good work babes.

this might sound retarded but maybe you could go to an alcoholics anonymous meeting or a narcotics anonymous meeting. those people understand addiction more than anybody and would LOVE to help you overcome your dependence on cigarettes. nicotine might sound like a minor addiction to some people but in NA they will tell you that no addiction is minor. good for you for quitting, staying quit is the hard part. talk to somebody who has dealt with addiction issues before and listen to thier advice. good luck!

Wow - what will power! I'm a smoker and seriously doubt that I'd ever have the will power to quit so I really admire you.
Hmmmm . . . how about reading, crossword puzzles, or other things like that to keep your mind thinking about other things.

Visualize yourself in a relaxing, fun place, like walking along a warm south seas beach. Visualize your self FEELING the water touch your toes and the warm sun on you shoulders, HEARING the seagulls cackle, and SMELLING the salt in the air.
In other words, make your visualization a total sensory experience as much as possible and it can help you concentrate on other things besides your habit.
