Put the DVD into your DVD drive. If it begins to play, stop the player.
Go into "My Computer" and find the drive that has the DVD in it. Rightclick on it and select open. This will open a window that lets you see all the files on the DVD itself. You can then copy those files from the DVD to a floder on your computer.
To view the DVD from your computer, just start your DVD player software, and do a File/Open and go to the folder that has the DVD files in it.

well, I use DVDshrink. Its a free DVD backup program. You can use that to put the DVD into your hard drive and view it that way instead. No need to load the disc.
you can download it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm
