how frequently (estimate) would i need a new alternator ?

Yes,as long as the assessaries do not have a large amperage draw on the system while the engine is running

It shouldn't be an issue. However I would definitely look into getting a bigger alternator. Any good RV shop can set you up. I've got a friend who installed a police type alternator in his pickup, wasn't that big of a deal either.

Not exactly sure, but I know it'd blow the regulator on a regular basis (no pun intended). Not a good idea, could possibly cause electrical problems elsewhere in the vehicle as well.

You'ld need a battery isolator used in RVs.
