Often these types of files are used to automatically install virus and spyware on some inexperienced persons computer.

Usually these are self extracting compressed files. If you double click on it it will execute, extracting and or automatically installing its contents onto your computer.

DO NOT open this unless you are know who gave you the file and are absolutely sure the file is safe and have scanned it with your antivirus/antispyware first. Scanning will not catch all threats and many antivirus programs are unable to scan within compressed/archived files.

Never ever ever ever ever open a .exe file. They are almost always viruses. Especially if you don't know the person who sent it. I would delete it immediately.
