Question

I was dropping Sergei Federov for Nik Antropov in my fantasy league but it said it was denied today cause someone with a "higher priority" requested him.. wtf is that? and why dont i have a high one?

damn, now Lubers has him! omg, im not having ANY luck lately.. Like seriously.

Yeah Chris, look at the waiver # in our standings. I am 5th- You are 12th. If someone with a lower # grabs him as well, they get the priority. That person then moves to last (Lubers is now #18) and everyone else moves up a spot. The opening waiver # is decided on where you drafted- 1st overall got the last waiver spot etc.
FA do not apply to this, just waiver pick ups-guys who have a waiver date in brackets after their name.

It's because Antropov was on waivers. If you look at the standings, there is a waiver priority column. When a player goes on waivers, the person with the lowest number has the highest priority on the player. I now fall to the lowest priority until someone else claims a player off waivers. All released players go on waivers for a few days prior to becoming full-blown free agents.

Perhaps we could discuss a trade if you are interested in Antropov....

Waiver priority can be seen on the league page. Teams work their way towards number one position and once they have exercised that right they drop to the bottom of the pecking order. It's similar to how the NHL handles multiple waiver claims for the same player. The lower the waiver number you have, the more likely it is you will be able to claim the player. I'm not sure how Yahoo sets the priority levels but I have had it happen to me in the past.

Check the settings for your league. Is it Yahoo Fantasy?

Leagues can be formatted for a Waiver List. So lets say you had #1 pick overall in a 10 person draft. Your waiver number would be 10.. so the guy/girl who got the 10th pick has first 'dibs' on any new free agent on the waiver wire.

it goes in the reverse order of the draft. so if you had the third overall pick and the fourth overall pick set him as his number one priority too the fourth pick would get him. Now someone has picked up a free agent he is automatically put at the back of the line.

It may be someone who got to it earlier then you did. claims ike that don't go through until the next day, he could have already claimed him when you tried to.

If you're on Yahoo Fanstasy, I think what has taken place was that someone else wants him and requested him as well.

If memory serves, it goes by inverse draft order. That is, you probably drafted before them, so they get higher priority.

a million) not one of the costs you suggested have easily been exceeded. 2) ACTA isn't a bill. that is a international treaty, and it become round lengthy before SOPA and PIPA. it is also being so heavily protested that that isn't any longer very likely to ever pass into effect.

Yeah, that was me. I changed my mind though, I want to keep Higgins because he's the better skater with the same hussle as Antropov's having this year. I've already let him go yesterday, so try again.
