Employers are just people too the other answers are good, but I have found that they hire people that they feel most comfortable with. If you can compliment them or make them feel like you really like them and respect them. They want someone who will be easy going yet hard working. Also remember you deserve this job and you should walk in feeling like you belong there, and you know what you are doing. Its OK if you are nervous and really don't know exactly whats going on, it is just to give them a good impression they won't be there when you start the job anyways and it wont matter if you need to learn more. Practice the usual questions in advanced having the answers already worked out in your mind will make it much easier to remember and say. Breath and relax they pick up on nervousness and it will make them feel nervous too. Be ready to go early and arrive before 2 I would go be there at 1:45 they like it if you wait for them a few mins then the other way around.

Prepare for it, then, when you go take deep breathes before you go inside and make sure you are walking upright and not hunching like a nervous person when you are traveling to the interview.
During the journey there smile a lot even if you don't feel like it and you have to force it and especially if you fell silly doing it.
When you arrive and are sitting waiting in the office etc make an effort to sit up straight and breathe fully, don't let yourself hunch/slouch or start breathing shallowly. If you feel like you are getting tense and you have time, ask to use the bathroom go in and shake yourself all over like a mental person and then go and sit back outside as i just described above.
Then just go in and be confident and don't be afraid to say you don't know the answer to a question if you get stuck :)

Tips for APPEARING confident in an interview.
1. Make eye contact on entering the room.
2. Sit forward in your chair when they are speaking and listen intently.
3. Sit back in your chair when you are speaking and maintain eye contact as much as possible.
4. Perpare for certain questions. What do you have to offer us? What are your weak areas? What are your goals for the future?
5. Dress for the job you are going for. No point dressing in a suit for a mechanics position. etc...
6. Do not become flustered if they put you on the spot. Be honest with them.
7. Have one or two questions that you can ask them.

Pretend you already have the job. Act as though you've been there forever. Its home to you. Picture yourself doing the job for years and you know how to do it inside out. That will give you an easiness inside. Don't over answer questions.

Relax, go over your resumé a few times that way you know yourself and your resumé without doubt and just take your time answering the questions they pose. Above all show confidence, even if you know its just a show THEY dont! Also remember this, "Slow is smooth, smooth is best" and Good luck!

Go in there with the attitude that you are the answer to their needs, and not as someone who is desperate for a job. Don't be cocky or arrogant, just be confident in your qualifications and abilities.

Rehearse some answers to common questions, it will get you used to talking about yourself clearly. Good questions to answer are "What skills can you bring to this position?", "What are your career goals?", and "Why are you leaving your current job?"
