I want, the people all over the world knows this, Iran has nearly 70 milion people and at last half of them are agree with ahmedinajad's ideas. And there is 35 milion people disagree with him and I am one of them(disagree). Iran's people has experience an eight years longed war with Iraq and now after 18 years you can see the sights of war in Iran yet. So most of Iran's people like any body else on earth, loves peace and welfare. When most of countries boycotts Iran, in fact they are punishing the Iran's poeple, not Iran's government, unfortunately Iran's people living in a bad conditions, they are under the forces from Iran's government and foreign countries.
reliable people in Iran believes, they need more social service, health service, jobs and mental welfare and nulclear energy or weapon is not necessary. Please be honest, when most of countries boycotts giving food and drug, Transport system spare parts, education stuffs and too many others, Iran's government is punished or peop

I think that's the whole point...to make the populace so upset over their leader's actions and the consequences that they suffer that they vote out/overthrow/whatever the leaders that are causing the problems.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work -- the same regimes that are dangerous to other countries (Saddam's Iraq, North Korea, Iran, etc), are doubly dangerous to their own citizens and that makes them fear going against their leaders, no matter how much suffering they're enduring.

I'm American-born & I've been seeing a wonderful, Iranian lady for 2 yrs. I've learned a lot of her culture since then. At first, I'd ask naive questions like, "are there American cars in Iran? Are there grocery stores, malls & movie theaters?" I (thought) were reasonable questions of a foreigner...She said something like..."Do you think we're backward people, living in huts? We're Persian, one of the first civilizations, going back thousands of years! We are among the first people to use mathematics, & the written word. Of course we have those things! A majority of Iranians have advanced college degrees, We have Sears, Macy's, McDonald's, Pizza Huts, movie theaters, AND American cars too!" Wow! I didn't know that! I guess I WAS naive! If you saw her family walking down the street, you couldn't tell them from any other Americans. They are GOOD ppl, like the other 80 % in Iran that are peaceful.. Don't believe everything our govt. feeds the press...Most of it's propaganda!

I realize that the government of Iran and the People of Iran are two different things, and may be of two separate minds. I have known several Iranian people in my life, some at a time when they told everyone else they were Algerians for their own safety.
It comes down to a trade-off between the collateral damage of civilians who might not support the government and the safety to be gained by removing that government. Eventually, the People of Iran are going to be outweighed by the dangerous nature of the government over which they may have little influence, but far more influence than any other country may.
It's not personal. It's a matter of survival. Your government is dangerous, and cannot be allowed to continue its present course.
All we can say is "change it or duck".

dude i'm shocked! The US wants to capture iranian oil reserves (the 2nd largest in the world) and you want the iranian govt. to stop all measures to go nuclear? you want your country to be the next victim (God forbid!)
i thought you'd say something which wud make any sense.. look at it this way - several other countries are in the nuclear race, countries in south america are doing it, israel has nukes which is far more dangerous than iran having nukes! why dont u think from this perspective...
i understand money needs to be served on the welfare of people but hey defense also needs to boosted up! it's a tough life in today's world...!
let's hope iran gets in the right direction and it gets on a path thats good for its people and the whole region (Ameen!)

I feel the same way about our embarrassment--I meant government (U.S.). It is a shame that most leaders try to make it look like their people ALL support them, which in turn puts their own people at risk of harm.
I sincerely apologize for the rude and aggressive answers of some of these people on here who claim to be American... I sure hope they aren't!

I know a very dear Iranian woman who lives in the USA. So I do separate your government from your people.
That being said, the American government is still probably going to drop nuclear bombs on you.

In the USA, it is much the same. There is nothing we can do about this president even if we don't agree. Our presidents are really very much the same. Religion drives them both.

I know where you're coming from being an American within this American government.
Bad leadership with terrible foreign policy and hardly no help for our domestic issues.
