A synonym is a word which, although it's not the same word, has the same meaning as another one.
i'm sure you have been given ample examples here, but if you do want a synonym for a particular word, google it

A synonym is a word that means the same, or similar, to the original word. (I think it's pretty odd that you can explore the internet enough to ask this question, but not enough to find ou what a synonym is for yourself). For example, if the word is poor some synonyms are: deprived, broke, underprivelaged, meager, and unfortunate.

synonym - a word that has the same meaning.
laughed - giggled
lied - fibbed

that type of thing. think about words she uses a lot, and don't try and over-complicate things.
