I have two weeks' leave from work coming up in November. Due to circumstances I now have nothing planned for that time. Therefore, I'd love to spend the time positively, perhaps learning a new skill or hobby, but I have no ideas what I'd like to do that I'm not already doing now.!

Any suggestions?

Perhaps you have a yearning to learn something new but don't have the time/money - if so, what is it? I just might be inspired by your ideas.!

hi, its nice to know u want to learn new skill and r open to suggenstions and hope therefore an open minded individual. you could have just be like few people i know, self opinionated, lazy, habitual 'i am always right' kind of individual.
There are many avenues that one cane take in search of self development. Individual learning, which is basically for yourself, improving your physical and mental well being while learning a new skill or hobby such as leisure activities, self-defence, languages etc. countless short term fixes if you so wish or you can be involved with something that provide the aformention improvements to your self and coupling with that perhaps something that the people around you can benefit or the environment?. I personally believe that learning never stops in life. We sometimes describe the learning curbe of our life as 'learning experiences' or being taught a lesson and such like. from each different steps we take we can pick something up from people or even developing our own attitude but most of all self development comes from within to pick and learn from everything by evaluating positive and negative of ourselves and conduct in relation to others. WARNING- analyze life only if you are mentaly strong and self deciplined or you just fall in the pit of despair.
you are thinking just get to the point, hey you did say you haven't got anything to do at present. Reading is a good hobby and patience is a good virtue to have and a skill """" ha ha.
but no siriously would you not be interested in a wholistic approach to self development, where you learn, teach, build confidence, help and support yourselves and others.
finding opportunity to volunteer with a good charity organisation working with local communities, being part of support groups, attend some meetings with local people and also understanding the relationship between local authority and communities, different dept within LA provide different service to the communities bar it be a beurocratic minefield or may be supporting a group of people to achieve a healthy living target, outings as such like. there are huge scope to develop yourself and others. Last of all believe me you will come out with a wealth of knowledge and experience and also you will witness suffering, greediness, obesity, alcoholism, moaning, bitching and self sacrifice, do gooders, people good and bad but above all self development.
I know what you are thinking run -run - run, but i say take the challenge.

Hmm, you could pick a part of the house that you wanted to redo and work on that. You know like the bathroom or something...

If I had two weeks... wow, mmm. You could go on a road trip, just you. That would be kind of fun, an adventure by yourself, thats self development =)

Have fun though!

You could try radio control models. If you get one in kit form you have the added sense of achievement when you put it all together and use it first time. Also since you've built it yourself you'll know how to take it apart for maintenance or upgrading.

A good website to check is www.modelsport.co.uk
