Is there much difference between the intel core 2 duo and the intel core 2 quad in terms of power and speed. is quad worth the money??

The Core 2 Quad has 4 cores compared to 2 for the Core 2 Duo. If your program is multithreaded, the advantage is massive, if not, then really little advantage at all. A lot of media editing/encoding programs and rendering and professional type programs are multithreaded, most average everyday programs and games are not.

Yes quad is like having double the amount of power of core 2 duo, however for most people core 2 duo should be powerfull enough, but then again the more you spend the long the pc should last, with quaility compents.

Core 2 Quad mead they have 4 Core 2 in a die
mean they can handle 4 seperate process...
