Did Tom Brady save the Patriots, or did the Patriots through Belichick, Weis and Crennel save Brady?

IT was a little bit of both. Brady wasn't the prototype QB with a rocket arm, but he was more like Montana in the sense that his football IQ was off the charts. So he became the perfect QB for the Pats new system. He was smart enough to master it quickly. He also understands his abilities and limitations and puts that knowledge to use. He was also a perfect fit for a team that wanted to stress TEAM over ME.

No, they're still relieved that they didn't waste their first pick on Ryan Leaf in 1998, the biggest draft bust ever. NFL GM's have been "kicking" themselves for years over discounting talent taken late in the draft. There are numerous players in the NFL Hall of Fame that were not 1st day draft selections. SInce we're on QB's: Joe Montana was a Third Round draft choice in 1979, Johnny Unitas wasn't even taken until the Ninth Round in '55 and they weren't "system" QB's like Brady...

TB was the 199th pick in the 6th round. No one thought he was going to be so good, but luckily the pats gave him a chance. Considering the fact that Bill Belichek's career record before Brady was wayyy below .500, I think Brady plays a huge part in the patriots success. Belichek's record after starting Brady is something like 76-25. Scary.

Anybody could be a Pro Bowl QB if you knew the defense's coverage schemes. When you've got someone zoomed in on the opposing teams signals and know what they're gonna run, it wouldn't be hard to pick a route that would exploit that coverage's weakness.

As a 6th round draft pick it's just a crap shoot. I guess you can say they did their homework but we're talking about someone who was picked about 200th. He didn't have a stellar college career. I wouldn't go so far as to say he saved the Patriots, but I wouldn't think studying at the hands of Wies and Belichick hurt him any. I'm a Ptriots fan and live in Mass. so I'm bias anyway. He's the greatest.

TRAVISBICKLE: Your an idiot.

It's not all about the QB...if he didn't have the offensive line that he has...he wouldn't be doing that great. It's a team effort...Brady is just a small portion of the package. But yeah to answer your question...probably so.

Put Brady on the Dolphins and see how many wins he gets. He is a big product of the talent around him. Put him on a loser and see how good he is then.

Brady was a nobody, and everyone has 20/20 hindsight.

No because most of them believe and are probably right, that if he was on another team he would suck. He is a system QB and the camcorders helped a little to.
