ever been to Boston? I love that city....
to answer your question- when are you going? if it is now, or near future...Harvard yard- you can watch the row team pratice on the Charles River (beautiful)....Boston Commons has swan boats (and has a beautiful park)...the botanical gardens....the aquarium is one of the best I've seen...Fanuel Hall (open air markets)...they have free walking tours of the city- they take you through all of the historical parts of the city, etc.(just check in at any visitor's center- most of what I am listing here they will have info on)..Duck Tours (too fun...they ride on road and the river- its a touristy sight seeing trip, but fun)
like any city you can spend a lot, or a little....they have same day theater tickets, etc....and for food...you have to try Legal Seafood.
Enjoy!! hope this helps

If the Red Sox make it to Game 6, definitely go to Jillians (it's a pool/bowling/fun house right across Fenway Park). It's going to be packed but you will have fun. There are also bars, clubs and small restuarants around Fenway Park.
Just take the B line to Kenmore.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Plenty of entertainment, food, and of course Quincy Market.
