i am self employed and love my job i only work fridays saturdays and sundays and make a decent living off of those days. the rest of the week is kinda wasted on me as i don't really do anything or achieve anything. i want to strengthen my will power to be able to either go out and work during the week or do something productive.

i find that if i go out and try and work it's a real struggle to get started and generally just pack up and go home where as at the weekend i am out and just go for it 4 hours of solid graft. i want to be like that all the time totally motivated totally productive either with work or something else

i'm not looking for self help books but ways on developing as a person in these areas

Like with most other things, practice.
First, give yourself easy stuff like determine to not eat a particular food for a week. Then don't.
Increase the difficulty and take some pride in your ability to overpower yourself.
Target vices and other things that get in the way as you get into higher difficulty levels.

i think a goal helps, something to aim for. For me its saving up to go on a great holiday, the more i work, the more i earn, the sooner i get to go. Also i want to give good gifts for Xmas. Routine helps to, once you get into a good one its easier to get up and work
