I've heard many of success stories on it, one lady take it for only 2 weeks and conceive, the next one I read was a lady who take it for 1 and a half months and conceive, only thing I really heard bad about it is that it makes you feel bad in the early part of using it, like for 2-3 weeks it would, I helps ladies with pcos gets reguler cycles, and help u to ovulates on your own, also helps you lose weight, so so far metformin is a got pill, but it isn't FDA aproval to take for PCOS

I also have PCOS and I just started metformin last month. I'm taking 500mg 3x a day. I will find out within the next couple of weeks if it worked this month or not. I have heard a lot of success stories with met alone though, so try to hang in there and stay positive. I know it gets really hard. DH and I have been ttc for 13 months now, so I'm hoping this is what's going to make the difference. Best of luck to you!!!

Well, I wish I had a success story for you but I don't yet. I have PCOS and I have been taking Metformin 2000 mg. a day for almost 1 year. It has regulated my cycles and I have lost about 12 pounds since starting it. Unfortunately my husband has low sperm count, low motility(movement), and morphology is bad on a lot of them, so it has been quite a struggle to conceive for these last 18 months. We are now seeking help from a fertility specialist. We have had one round of IUI ( intra-uterine insemination) while I took another medication called Femara which is similar to Clomid without all the bad side effects that Clomid has. That first round didn't work so this time the doctor put me on stronger injectable fert. drugs to produce more eggs and that hopefully will give his sperm more chances to fertilize.
I wish you good luck in your journey, hope it's a short one.

Clomid alone didn't work for me either. I had to take both to conceive. I took 1000 mg metformin 2x daily and 150 mg clomid. It can take up to 3 months for metformin to start working well; I think I took metformin 4 months before getting pregnant.
