I didn't, but I can see why it happens.
1. sex life dries up at home (lame excuse, I know, but hey, were men!)
2. Becoming a father is a mini mid-life crisis all on it's own. I loved it and I had no problems, but some men think that becoming a parent is a death sentence on their life (So why have kids you chumps?) and in a detemination not to turn into a sad middle aged nobody they go too far and prove themselves as real men still.
Either way, it's sad and pathetic.

I have no idea how common it is.
I did not cheat. I never have pregnant or otherwise.
Pregnant women often have a higher libido then they normally do... so why are some men 'not getting any' as someone pointed out.
Update: I'm noticing a few really anti-male posts here, both from men and women. I would just like to point out that women cheat on their husbands too! I'm betting some pregnant women cheat on their husbands! So let's not point all of the fingers at the men now! I'm innocent, personally, so I take offense to people claiming that men are just "that way" or whatever.

That is absolutely horrible. if the guy cheated on you leave him and dont look back. At the time when he should be there most for you and he's betraying you? That would make him a scum bag. Once someone is a cheater they always are.
As for it being common, alot of men find their wives/gf unattractive while pregnant (some find them more attractive) so those who do find them less attractive will be more likely to cheat if they have no morals

Not every guy cheats on his wife. Lots do but not all. I think they feel they have us women because we are pregnant with thier child so they can go ahead and have an affair because we are now devoted to them. WRONG!! If a man cheats on his wife when she is pregnant then his sorry butt should be out the door working and paying child support.

NO!!! I think that this idea, that it's a common practice for men to cheat on their significant other while she's pregnant is a biased point of view. I also think that statistically it's not a common practice that the majority of men cheat on their partner at all.

Not to be taken the wrong way, but what does being pregnant have to do with anything?
Seriously!
Its terrible NO MATTER WHEN ITS DONE.
Do pregnant women think they have the market cornered on requiring fidelity? What about us women that already had babies? I would rather know my man was a cheater from the start than 18 years down the road when the kids are almost grown! Geesh!

Never did, we have been through 3 pregnancies and I never considered cheating. In my opinion a pregnant woman is just as sexy if not more than she was before she got pregnant. Besides, you can have sex uo till her due date if everything is ok with her and the baby. Why cheat?

Get hold of yourself. She is caring your child and is suffering doing so. All you are thinking about is self gratification. You sound like an idiot. Think man...did you marry that woman because you love her or because she is some kind of a piece of meat to you? At her stage she needs your support more then ever. Grow up and be a responsible man.

Well I think it still depends. Most men will answer that it's because they rarely do "it" when women or their wives are pregnant and they can't live a normal life without doing "it" , which i think is just is a typical male-ego attitude. Men/ husbands should know that it's much harder on us, women changes both physically & emotionally when we're pregnant. Acting tough yet happy to ensure our baby's health is a very hard task so men/husband please don't add up by cheating on your wives/partners. Work things out, communicate we understand your sexual needs but please understand we are also having one of the toughest stage of our lives and so please just love us and respect us.

Yes, I have heard a few examples of this. It's a cold slap in the face to both the wife and the unborn baby. Truly pathetic.
