José Protacio Mercado Rizal Alonso y Realonda, Jose Rizal's full name. He is the National Hero of the Philippines as well as having his own National Holiday (called Rizal Day) and his face appearing on 1 Peso coins.

Other "old day" heroes include Lapu-Lapu and Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro.

In terms of today heroes, that would be those nice security guards at the mall and many others.

pacman is absolutely not a hero. a hero should have a good reputation. and he has not. he's a gambler.

ninoy is neither a hero... why? he knows that there is an assassination plot against him, why he came back to the philippines and even aired to the whole world that his coming? Isn't it like, he planned his own death to become a hero?

We have many heroes but our national hero is Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Philippines first hero is Lapu-Lapu.

Modern Day hero= OFWs (overseas Filipino workers), and Good citizens...
