I took on a business partner who paid to own half of business. His wife was stealing from the checking account and altering and deleting bank statements. He informed me he had opened a checking account for the business. However his name appears on check as well as in very small print at signature line appears the company name. My partner claimed to have no knowledge of the missing funds until he went an got bank statment from bank since the copies his wife were turning in had been altered. I terminated the partnership immediately. What else can I do about this since I never had my name placed on the checking account but all funds deposited were proceeds from daily income of business.

Your ex-business partner was committing felony embezzlement. Keep the financial records and every single piece of evidence you can find that shows fraudulent activity (including printouts of altered bank statements) and file a police report. Then, sue him in civil court for restitution of all the funds he stole from you, plus interest and penalties.

Depends on the amount of money involved. If it is significant. sue them. You will then be able to get unaltered statements from the bank and figure out how much is missing.

If it's chump change, you can do it yourself in small claims court if you can get the evidence.

Leaving something JOINT contained in the aftermath of that mess is a HUMONGOUS mistake. i imagine on the on the spot in this usa and in a overseas usa, marriage & having toddlers is a scary proposition even if you stay at the same time or no longer. on the on the spot, the divorce cost is so extreme with the aid of no-fault divorce. once you've toddlers, for women individuals - which skill they carry each and every of the playing cards. a guy on the on the spot has to comprehend that, love and "the dream" aside, the hazards to adult adult males/fathers some distance outweigh the rewards. examine the source - some large books and different components on in basic terms this undertaking. relatives courtroom is tilted heavily in desire of ladies individuals/moms. moms have each and every of the rights, get each and every of the benefits, and dad is in basic terms too frequently relegated to a shopper in his infant's lives at the same time as being an ATM device for mom. He can lose 1/2 (or more suitable) of the money, autos, living house, investments, etc... and worse - the toddlers. heavily, if I had everyday then what i comprehend now about how the divorce device sucks in fathers, grinds them up, and spits them out so unceremoniously, i might want to have by no skill gotten married. i might want to have given up my dream of having a relatives. with out-fault divorce (the biggest killer of marriage and households) you do not opt for an excuse anymore to break up. you in basic terms do not ought to sense like being married anymore - and with that truth comes the reality - a wedding ceremony is now no longer a freelance, so what's the point except to placed your self and your destiny in threat at the same time as someone "would not sense like it anymore?" With women individuals (who've toddlers) starting up in basic terms about 3/4 of divorces on the on the spot (maximum adult adult males do not even see it coming), that is the smart guy who chooses no longer to get married and actually no longer have toddlers... and that is a shame. This impacts adult adult males, women individuals, and toddlers alike. It impacts all and multiple and individuals opt for to awaken to that truth. i comprehend that there are awful adult adult males and awful fathers in this international - yet make no mistake - the are various awful women individuals and awful moms in this international and we ought to continually all be dealt with a similar way (strong or undesirable) and that in basic terms isn't taking position on the on the spot.
