Based mainly on performance, is it time that Rugby became Englands number one sport rather than football?
Out of the last few international matches i know which sport i have found more entertaining... which is the main purpose of sport in the the first place.
What do you think?

Rugby was a better game to watch long before we won the 2003 world cup.
You very rarely get a 0-0 draw in rugby. The match can swing from one minute to the next. It's far more exciting. There are more ways to score, and a lot more going on on the pitch.
The players are not overpaid, and are there because they love the game, not because they are looking for a fat pay check.
Rugby attracts supporters who are interested in the game. Football unfortunately attracts some supporters who just want to fight each other. Maybe that's because there isn't enough action on the pitch?

It's always much easier to enjoy a game that you're winning! Rugby is obviously extremely popular at the moment due to the fact that the We (England!) have *unexpectedly* made it to the 2007 Rugby World Cup Final! (COME ON ENGLAND!!!) let's all keep out fingers cross that they can pull off defending the title! Anyone going to make it over there for the Final? Basically Paul, football is for fairies. Now im not saying everyone that plays is a poof, but definitely the majority - 99.99%.

Rugby is still very close to where it came from, if you watch local league stuff and then the RWC for example they are very closely linked, with skill / passion. There isnt a massive jump and it makes people feel that if they comitted time and effort they could play pro rugby!!! Obviously not the case but it make syou feel like you can get a lot closer to it..

Football is so weak now. Its all about acting and faking and basically just mugging people off. Its expensive, overpaid, and we're rubbish at it. As soon as people get very good, they move abroad!!

However local team football is excellent, its back to basics and GREAT fun! I actually go down to my local football club on a staurday afternoon to watch now, its really good :-)

That could come to a crashing halt if the Springboks defeat you this weekend.

If England (Football) does not qualify for the Euros, think of it as a needed rebuilding of the squad starting with sacking McClaren and dropping players like Robinson.
You need a coach who can bring these players together and select the best 11 in terms of chemistry not the best 11 based on Reputation.

Since Rugby is played by big fat, talentless men who only have to put a sheeps bladder over a line to be "great", Football is still number one.

Oh right, so the majority of footballers are "poofs"? try saying that to Gattuso or Diarra etc, they'll kick the crap out of any obese Rugby "star".

So yeah, Football.
